WHAT IS FOOD DAY?
The Los Angeles Food Policy Council is hosting it’s 13th annual Food Day celebration. Food Day is a national initiative aiming to inspire Americans to change our diets and our food policies. Every October, thousands of events all around the country bring Americans together to celebrate and enjoy good food and to push for improved food policies.
2024 SERIES: BUILDING BRIDGES TO HEALTHY FOOD ACCESS
The 2024 theme for Food Day is “Building bridges to healthy food access.” As the Los Angeles Food Policy Council, we understand the crucial link to access of healthy culturally relevant food. we want to break barriers and build bridges to the critical need of healthy nutritious food access.
Part of the solution is to make our food system hyper-local by supporting small family-owned businesses and farmers who contribute to local accessibility to enhance food security.

City Hall Resolution and Celebration on South Lawn

Join us in the LA City Council meeting in City Hall Chambers for Food Day’s official resolution sponsored by Councilmember Eunisses Hernandez. The resolution will be followed by a celebration and resource fair on South Lawn with community partners and a live cooking demonstration.
