Come to Salva Market this Thursday at 2 PM to celebrate the store’s soft launch of new healthy food options, and take part in a Neighbor Meet & Greet with Boyle Heights residents.
Join Salva Market partners LA CAUSA YouthBuild and Champions for Change, as well as Boyle Heights neighborhood institutions, youth and community members to check out new healthy food options in the store. And stay tuned in late February for the Salva Market grand reopening as a Healthy Neighborhood Market, accompanied by nutritious cooking demonstrations!
PALOMA, a healthy food and wellness team of young leaders coordinated by community-based organization LA CAUSA YouthBuild in Boyle Heights, has worked closely with store manager Abel Gonzalez for several months to bring fresh and healthy foods to Salva Market. As active consultants on this “market makeover” project, the Los Angeles Food Policy Council staff connected Abel and LA CAUSA staff to healthy food vendors and retail expertise. The Department of Public Health Nutrition and Physical Activity Program offered additional resources.
Join us at this “Neighborhood Meet & Greet” to thank store manager Abel Gonzalez, LA CAUSA staff and the PALOMA team for their efforts to create a new healthy food option in Boyle Heights. And stay tuned for the Healthy Neighborhood Market grand reopening with fun cooking demonstrations later in February!
