Los Angeles Mayoral candidates weigh in on food policy

The mayoral election is fast approaching! If you live in Los Angeles, don’t forget to vote on Tuesday, May 21, 2013.

In the run up to the LA mayoral election, the Los Angeles Food Policy Council approached candidates Council Member Eric Garcetti and City Controller Wendy Greuel for their positions on food policy.

We gave the candidates a set of questions about key policy issues related to making food in Los Angeles healthy, affordable, fair and sustainable for everyone.  Generated with input from Food Policy Council and Working Group members, these questions reflect the priorities of our over 250 actively engaged organizations, working toward food system change. Using this questionnaire as a guide, we invited each candidate’s comments on food policy.
